Transsexual Sports Writer

It was interesting this morning. I started off with a conversation with a friend about transsexuals, then found this article. My first opinion is: it takes a lot of course to write that article. And frankly, I’m proud of them for doing it. There is nothing more terrifying about standing up for something you are. Declaring yourself transsexual has the same sense of enormity has declaring yourself, gay, lesbian, a witch, or Liberterian in some places. It has major repercussions in your life and it is a hard and difficult choice. One of my TS friends is going through that now, trying to get a close-minded government office where she works to accept her just as she tries going on with her day-to-day life.

One of my daily comics, Venus Envy goes through it also, talking about the stupidity of bi/gay/lesbian relationships and how they can get married because one of them changed gender in a way that the state didn’t agree. So, they can get married because the state still thinks one of them is male and one of them is female. And she apparently wrestles crocs, go figure. :)

Now, I’m sure it comes as no surprise to most of you that I’m perfectly comfortable with transsexuals. Actually, one might suggest I find them just as sexy as everything else with a heartbeat.

Well, I do.
