PvP webcomic's view of gay marriage

Okay, this made me laugh and I happen to agree to it at the same time.

I don’t know. In some aspect, they are the people who don’t agree or like the idea of sex. But, I remember reading a paper that found a group of males that were the most vocal against gay sex where actually, when using a penile measurement, the most turned on by gay sex. So, I suspect that a good percentage of those who are against it are actually just uncomfortable with their own desires or feelings. The people who don’t like it, but don’t care either way, are more frequently straighter than the vocal ones.

Of course, I think everyone is all sexualities, but to differing degrees. Yeah, someone might not find tentacles as exciting as me, but there are things I don’t find sexy but others do (hand over mouth smothering comes to mind).

Well said, and I happen to agree with everything you said (well, except for the homophobia, I was pretty much bi from the get-go :P).

I think it is hard for people to see other opinions or desires. And I was really not happy with Prop8, but I was also not in California. Thankfully, Iowa seems to have been somewhat calmer about gay marriages when it came to us.

The problem is, some people think that minor things like allowing bees to fly across town, parking in the main street of town, or allowing gays to marry are like breaking their bones.

Fluffy’s first wife (Poofy) was someone who had gay parents. As far as Poofy was concerned, she had four mothers and no father, mainly because her father ended up being a complete asshole and abusive. And, then her mother got shacked up with another woman, spent many years together, broke up and each of them got together with another woman. As far as I can say, that is about as gay of a family as possible. Obviously, Poofy is at least partially gay since she married Fluffy.

(Well… before I ended up being the other woman and stealing her away, but that deals with the entire threesome thing we had and various relationships).

This year, I got to snuggle with Poofy again. She has the two loveliest boys I’ve seen and married to her first ex, which happened to be a guy. They’ve been happily married for seven years now and she has drifted into monogamous (just like Fluffy) and heterosexuality.

Go figure.

Could be, but the opposite is also true. I grew up with parents who were very heterosexual. My mother threw people of the opposite gender at me from the age of 12 on. She left me alone (or a day in one case) with those I had budding romantic interests at 15 with directions of “no more than light petting”, just in hopes I would solidify a sexual orientation that wasn’t gay.

Needless to say, I ended up rather bi-sexual in general. While my proud proclamation of being Wiccan was met with “I’m glad you found a religion”, the quiet revelation that I was bisexual was met with two weeks of stony silence and pretty much a ban on the topic entirely. Now, when my mother pretends to read my adult stories (which she insists on a copy), she goes on about the “psychological horror” aspects of the story. For those who read Mummy’s Girl (if you haven’t, buy my book!), you’ll probably notice a rather large lack of psychological horror traits in the novel. But, she told everyone* about it being a horror story.

  • Minor note, I lost the title of my religion somewhere around 25. Now, I just am “generically religious”.
