Girl refuses to testify against man who is accused of molest

This is going to be an interesting case. A girl was jailed for refusing to say a man had sex with her. Naturally, this isn’t a biased article at all (yeah, right), but it is interesting that they are pushing the “pedophile” angle so hard. If this doesn’t get overthrown, I wonder if others will use this method of jailing children who don’t agree to make a statement, go to court, or refuse to help prosecute someone they feel didn’t commit a crime.

Scheiner mentioned that many civil rights erosions are enacted on people who can’t defend themselves: prisoners and children are two examples. If she is being jailed as an adult, why doesn’t she have the permission to have a lawyer?

Bah, I seriously hate when people kill links like that. I don’t know what happened to the case. I find most of the interesting articles when they pop up on my RSS feeds, but once the case dies down or rots in court cases, it becomes harder to track.

I think I’m also going to start posting more excerpts instead of just links.
