DIY Funerals

An interesting concept, at least to me, do-it-yourself funerals. One of the things I learned while watching Penn and Teller’s Bullshit is that the business of death is a pretty good business. This makes sense, when you think about it, simply because people don’t make sane decisions while grieving. They are emotional and don’t want to lose their loved ones, so when someone tells them they can keep their love from rotting in the ground, a lot of people jump at the privileged.

Fluffy and I discussed this already. We already decided on cremation and the cheapest possible funeral we could get. You know, the cardboard box in the incinerator if I can’t get my body donated to science. But, these people have taken it much further and I’m not sure I disagree. I don’t like the cost of funerals, it’s obscene when you look at what people pay for a box that is going to be buried in a matter of hours.
