When I was at a customer site, they had a fancy fingerprint reader for passwords. It was all the rage at the time and everyone was happy. But, it really does hav a problem? What happens when someone steals your fingerprint? MythBusters showed how easy it was to steal a fingerprint and use it on a scanner, even one that supposedly checks for that type of thing.

Disney is now doing finger print scanning for ticket verification and some politicians want to make fingerprint scanning required for some things. Obviously, that isn't really the best choice since you cannot change it if someone steals it.

Required for some things, you say - but what kind of things?

Oh, and how are you doing?

Actually, I noticed the one-touch payment stuff in the Chicago area has been phased out. They won't explain the reason, but I suspect it has to do with either the company running it losing trust (i.e. data loss or theft) or the fact it is relatively easy to bypass even in front of someone.
