Well, my ego is taking a rather nasty hit. Two weeks and no responses. *sniff* So, for round three of the free novel contest, we have...

1 or der Wandersmann.

If you don't at least respond, I'm probably going to cry. :)

Whaddya mean, "1 or"?

P.S. My pooter's busted, or damn near ... it's lucky I go on at all.  I just spent the day recording everything valuable I can think of, in anticipation of reformatting ... the OS has gotten so buggered up that it won't even accept itself ... I try to run it in over the old corrupt one and it just locks up. I can't even Ctrl+Alt+Del ... I have to turn the power off. Then I get that snide thing about turning it off properly.

Anyway, expect to hear from me when I get this mess straightened out.

In the list of possible people who could win the free novel, you were #1 on the list. So, the random number generator came up 1 of 29, so you won. :)

You bet your pretty bippy, babe. I never could figure these guys who reformat weekly ... it takes hours to do it. I suppose that's one of the reasons that Microsoft came out with these "revert" things that are in the newer OSes.

Anyway, maybe you could advise me ... I plan to wipe my D: partition clean and mirror my C: partition onto it. Then I've got to somehow run either Win 98SE onto C: in a fresh install, or XP Pro. How do I do that? If I wipe C: clean so that it will accept the new OS, it won't have any brains. Do I just put the OS disc in the tray, turn off the machine and turn it on again? I never had to do anything like this before.

OK ... now, go look at your PMs.

Well, my PM has the address in it, but it didn't seem to go. If you don't get it in a reasonable time, email me.

Most operating system CD-ROMs basically just need you to turn on the machine with the CD in teh drive. They'll walk you through setting up the machine from there. If it doesn't work, just check if you have a "Boot Order" option when you start up the computer; you may have to put the CD rom before the hard drive.

I have both eyes, but thanks anyway.

The nick is actually from the song Mein Vater war ein Wandersmann.

I was honored by a request to do a guest blog to pimp The Mummy's Girl over at Lust Bites! *squee* I hope they like it.

  http://lustbites.blogspot.com/2008/05/mummys-girl-guest-spot.html

It has another comment-to-win contest on it, if you want to snag a free copy. :)

Actually...

This song has been translated into Dutch, I believe, as Mijn vader was een tovenaar, which means "My father was a wizard." That comes pretty close, you know...

Probably don't need to advertise. I keep a news reader of all the changes and try to get to most of them, but I'm in the last two weeks of my masters so I'm a tad... distracted.

Also... being selfish here... the novels board is for my own ego boosts. :P I need more people to buy them, you know. :)
