Damn, I seem to be doing a lot more talking lately, than posting pictures, which is what I set the thread up for.

So here are some more ... (pictures, not talk) ... with as little commentary as I can get away with:

OK, I guess I gotta say SOMEthing ...

I dunno what that poiple stuff is; I swear I didn't change the colour.

And I'm not acquainted at all with those spiky golf-ball things ... I've never seen anything like them before.

I think those yella bugs are some species of shield-bug ... I'll have to wait until Isabela sees them; she knows shield bugs perty well. She knows lotsa stuff like that. I think it's amazing. She's even a lightning calculator, and enjoys tossing numbers around in her head. YAAAAAUGH!

The mourning dove just happened to be sitting there ... I like them a lot. I did my best to bring up those colours without exaggerating them, or making them "fluorescent".

The swan and cygnets were strictly targets of opportunity. I just happened to be there when they took their morning commute from one pond to the next.

Well, considering the underwhelming response to that last, I'm beginning to wonder whether the folks here want to see any more.

Time to chime in, yes or no? I can handle the lack of comments on specific postings, but it would be nice to know that I wasn't posting things that aren't wanted.

I like the last one a lot, just a tad too small to make a background for me.

On the other bit, there are probably four people who responds frequently on this forum and a whole ton of lurkers. I also need to check the settings,  but to save my bandwidth from lurkers, images can't be seen by people who don't log in (there is also a posting in the rules section to that effect). So, you have the double effect of a lot of lurkers not saying anything, registered people not saying anything.

As for the four who respond? Well, you are one of them. :) I'm really terrible at responding to things, though I do try. I looked at it, but didn't respond. Don't know about the others.

I do appreciate it, but I can't insist you keep posting them. I love nature scenes without animals in general, plus the moon. If it is too much, then I'd say stop. If you want a forum, you've long since qualified for your own picture board. But... otherwise, I can't give a good answer. :(

Now, if we could get more talking people, that would be great. :)

Well, I guess I'm both a picture poster and a talking person ... I know that I do tend to go on, sometimes at great length. I reckon you're all lucky I can't type, because if I could write with the speed and ease of someone good at typing, you'd all be crowded out of this forum. 1:1 IM conversations are about my limit, and even then I'm slow; chatrooms are a nightmare, at least for me. I think that I come close to qualifying for the appellation of "garrulous". Well, at least I don't make very many mistakes; I hit each key one at a time. Not that other people don't, but the speed, and the difficulty of getting two hands to sort out their differences seems to lead to a certain amount of confusion. I tell Isabela that her two hands are having a race to the keys, but sometimes the wrong one wins.

Anyway, as long as I know someone (whose opinion I respect) is interested in seeing the images, I'll keep putting them up. They're my life, you know, or at least a large, important part of it, and I tend to think that OF COURSE, other people want to see them!

But, in my saner moments, I realise that they might not. No, really ... they might not. I don't know what's the matter with them, but they might not.

Oh, and thanks, dear.

@der Wandersmann:
I'd like to perhaps use one of the cloud images as a backdrop for one of my RPG trailers if that is ok with you?

Sounds alright to me ...

How did that other shot you wanted work out?

BTW, what are RPG trailers?

KK has a friend who makes movie previews of his game sessions.

These are filmable? I always thought it was two (or more) people, sitting at two (or more) pooter terminals, reading stuff off a screen and typing stuff in. I can't conceive of this being a fit subject for the screen, but I admit that I didn't think too much of Warhol's Henry, either.

Oh, I'm talking table top. Basically people getting together in a room with dice and pencils. In KK's case, one of his friends makes a little preview trailer for the next gaming session. Kind of like a movie trailer but for a RPG game. Its actually kind of cool (and a lot of work).

Maybe he'll let me post one of them and I'll show you what I mean.

Sounds good ... the only game with dice I know is played without pencils ... instead, we use cash money (remember cash money?). Only seldom do we need the pistols.

And another room full of players around the table is played with cards and coinage (just for score-keeping, of course), and Leinie's Red or Evan Williams as a lubricant. It pays to know probability theory. And the pistols get very little use anymore, since we made a rule that if you shoot a guy, you have to pay his funeral expenses. It's only fair.

To explain it a bit more (tho t'Sade has already summarized it very neatly):

I'm running a game where the player characters are special agents investigating cases involving (supposedly) supernatural or alien activity. It's somewhat like X-Files with the exception that the events happen in Germany and the characters are not exactly always the "good guys" as they need as readily to a battle supernatural threats as well as destroy any evidence that these threats ever existed (which might sometimes involve eliminating witnesses or forensic evidence).

Like X-Files (or CSI) I like to run my game in the fashion of a TV show, that is a single case per session and sometimes focus on a specific character or event. (Tho I do like cliffhangers.)

Now, a friend who works for a media company and does among other things DVD authoring had the idea of creating a sort of "TV show trailer" with typical "show scenes" and the portraying of the characters. I show that at the start of every game session I run and while most of the trailer is always the same (unless characters change) the last few seconds of each session are unique in that they show the "episode title", and have a different background picture and some small moving pictures that give a subtle hint of the events to come.

It's a great way to get the atmosphere of the game going and help players to get into their characters more easily.

Now, I was thinking about using a picture of yours as a background pic for one of the future sessions.

(Sorry, I cant put in the trailer here, as they are always at least 80 MB large and there are also copyright issues with some pics I took randomly from the net and cannot even give credit for because I dont know who did them. While the trailer is strictly for my own/my RPG groups personal use and not at all commercially used, I dont want to get in trouble.)

And of course many thanks for letting me use your picture.  :)
