In the process of her showing the scene of the crime, the officer did a background check on her and found out that she was wanted. So, instead of dealing with the rape claim, they processed her as a prisoner and basically forgot about the whole reason she called the police.
There is that nasty decision when they have to figure out what takes precedence. My friend the ex-detective would have said the rape case took precedence but she wouldn't be going anywhere afterwards, but it sounds like from the article that they didn't even give her the pills to prevent conception afterwards. It was just interesting. Kind of sad and, again, reminds me of the zero tolerance problems.
