Review - Prisoner of the Wizard's Harem by Shon Richards
« on: May 09, 2010, 06:57:17 PM »

As a little thing, I enjoyed Choose Your Own Adventure books a great deal. Yes, they were frustrating little things that if you didn't do the exact right thing, you'd end up dead. Recently, I read Prisoner of the Wizard's Harem by Shon Richards. This is an indie writer type of thing, but he created just a wonderful and playful choose your own adventure story about a warrior breaking into a wizard's harem in rescue of the princess. Naturally, being written by Shon Richards, there are a lot of playful sex scenes ranging from the cat girl to the water elemental and some ogres. Not so much on the anal, but there is a lot of blow jobs and sex to go around for everyone.

I tried to honestly figure it out three or four times before I gave up and just started reading through the story. Eventually, I figured it out, but by then, it was just a sexy little romp instead of holding my fingers two or tree decisions back trying to find the right one.

The only major flaw of the book is that it repeats itself. This is a drawback of the genre itself, not to mention the need to write 300+ entries, but there were a few decisions that I honestly couldn't figure out the difference. The dryad scene didn't really excite me nearly as much as the cat girls and I never did figure out how to find the vampire.

I liked reading it a lot. It kept me occupied for a good number of days, just paging through and enjoying Shon's writing. I'll probably read it again, one those days when I'm feeling vaguely horny and just browsing my bookshelf. Though, the best parts already have folds on the corners so it isn't quite the virginal story I first read.
