Most religion is about the root of all evil MONEY! You give it to them because they can fight the evil it brings and you can't. If god doesn't want the preacher to buy a huge house and a BIG car he wouldn't let him! If you can't pay tyour bills or buy food because you gave the church your money don't worry when you die and get to heaven you will be so happy you will forget the the pain of watching your baby die. And of course you will see him in heaven! So don't worry behappy and give the church your money!

nope. ment to be gr. as in "i'm currently rolling my eyes."

I would only give my money to a church that uses it, not for themselves, but for the community. Example, a church I used to go to would use the money it gets to pay bills, but also sponcers community events to bring people together. Even if I didn't go to church, we sometimes still give money there.

You all may be surprised (or not) to find out that I, a rabid conservative, voted for Obama.

I did this because it was either Obama, the idiot fascist who seems not to understand he is a fascist, or John McCain, who knows full well he is a Fascist.

Drive the country off a cliff at warp speed with Obama, or at the speed of an old man driving 35mph on the freeway with McCain.  The end result would be the same, but the speed makes a difference as speed tends to frighten people.  Americans need to be frightened!  I voted for Obama, and they seem to be waking up, as the last special election in NY shows, where Anthony Wiener's seat was lost by the "Democratic" Fascist party.  Unfortunately, a RINO (also a Fascist) is what the new guy may very well be.

A friend of mind told me he voted for George W. Bush, not because of policies, but because he hoped that George would piss off so many people that voters would actually get off their ass and pay attention. And maybe take pride in their country.

Bush was a RINO, and he revealed himself almost from day one of his administration.  It's unfortunate, actually.  I sometimes wonder if it would not have been better to endure Al Gore during that time period.  Under a Gore administration, it's unlikely he'd have taken the steps necessary to get us out of the Clinton recession, and this mess we're in now would have started a lot sooner, what with the "Housing Crisis."  The causes of it, I think, might have come to the fore far sooner.

But, a little pain is better than long term decline, IMHO.  McCain would have been a disaster regardless.  I truly think the man has something wrong in his head.  I heard an interview done by Michael Reagan during the 2000 primary campaign, and the man came out as a complete conspiracy theorizing kook.  Not sure if that interview is online or not, but it was truly fascinating to listen to.  I was actually surprised the Obama camp didn't dig it up during the presidential campaign.  Had it been played for a national audience, Obama might have won by a landslide.

You would think so, but look at how many people think Rick Perry is wonderful? There is a lot of chatter on the radio in my area about him being wonderful.

He's got a very, very good chance of being our next president.  These two corruption scandals Obama's involved in is going to cripple his already slim chances of getting re-elected.  That said, I never underestimate the Republican's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...
